The Cathedral is a space for all and we want everyone to feel welcome here. We take accessibility very seriously and we work very hard to make the Cathedral accessible to all where we can.
Disabled Access
Disabled parking is available on Cuckoo Lane alongside Holy Trinity Church – roughly 100 yards from the entrance of the New Cathedral. Access to both Cathedrals from this point is via St. Michael’s Avenue which is cobbled but has an inlay of smooth stone slabs.
Accessible toilets
Accessible toilets are located inside the New Cathedral, at Nave level. Access is via a ramp on the left-hand side of the building.
Level access
There is level access to the Ruins from Bayley Lane, and from the entrance by the Tower which can be accessed via a path from St. Michael’s Avenue. There is level access to the New Cathedral via the doors in the West Screen, and all parts of the Cathedral at Nave level are accessible with the exception of the Chapel of Unity and the Chapel of Christ the Servant.
Assistance dogs
Assistance dogs are welcome within all areas of the Cathedral campus, and to all events and services.
Please note
Paving within the Cathedral campus is a mixture of cobbles, flagstones and modern paving and can be uneven in places so care should be taken, particularly in wet weather.
The Cathedral comprises many different areas, each with differing accessibility. To find specific accessibility information, please click through to specific locations on the Our Buildings page →
