Coventry Blitz commemorations

Thursday the 14th of November marks the 84th anniversary of the Coventry Blitz of 1940, a night which saw devastation across Coventry and saw the destruction of the Cathedral Church of St. Michael.

In the aftermath of that terrible night there were two choices - revenge or forgiveness. Provost Howard’s response to the destruction of the Cathedral was one of immediate forgiveness and of rebuilding the Cathedral as a beacon of hope for the future, a message which continues to this day.

If you'd like to learn more about the Coventry Blitz and the Cathedral, you can also pay visit to the Blitz Museum, a treasure trove of 1940's memorabilia and artefacts. Usually open weekends up to mid-November. Find out more about opening times can be found here.

Coventry Cathedral will mark this year’s Blitz anniversary with a series of events below, more TBC.
