Baptism and Confirmation

Services of sacrament, celebration, blessing and commemoration

We warmly welcome enquiries about baptism and confirmation.

To be baptised here at Coventry Cathedral you need to be a worshipping member of the community (which includes Community of the Cross of Nails partners) or have strong pastoral reasons for desiring baptism here. If you qualify, we offer services where baptism is offered through either sprinkling or full immersion.

The Bishop of Coventry generally conducts Confirmation services at the Cathedral twice each year – at Easter and in November. We also admit children to Holy Communion prior to Confirmation on a regular basis. Confirmation preparation for children is normally done with a parent. The course usually lasts for about 5 weeks and explores who Jesus is, the meaning of his death and resurrection, how we enjoy a relationship with God and what baptism, Holy Communion and Confirmation are.

If you'd like to discuss any of these services, please get in touch.
