Challenge Events

Could you see yourself taking on a new personal challenge, or with friends, and raising funds through sponsorship? A challenge event might just be for you!

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
— Philippians 4:13

If you're looking to fundraise and have a great time in the process, look no further than a challenge activity. Challenges can be undertaken by all ages and abilities, you might surprise even yourself!

Here are some ideas of challenge activities you could do to raise funds to go towards the future and heritage of Coventry Cathedral.

  • Our spire has 180 steps, how many times can you climb it? What is the highest number of steps you can do in a certain amount of time?
  • Sponsored Silence - Challenge yourself to be silent for a whole day or have your sponsors agree the amount of time.
  • Sponsored Boogie! - How long could you dance for? Maybe get together with a group and do a community dance off!

Feeling a little more adventurous? You may want to abseil the Cathedral, or maybe something further afield is calling to you? We have recently registered with Charity Challenge who offer adventurous challenges. Self funded charity challenges are also a good way of ticking something off your personal bucket list as well as supporting a charity.

Maybe you have your own challenge fundraising ideas? We welcome all fundraising ideas and support so please do send us a message using the form below and we will get back to you to discuss further.

Top Tips For A Successful Challenge Event:

  • Donate yourself! - On average, those who start their fundraising by making a donation to their own page go on to raise 58% more than those who don't.
  • Make it personal - Personalising your page with a summary of why you're supporting your chosen charity can lead to 36% more donations. So tell people why you're doing it for the cause.
  • Spread the word - Every share of a fundraising page on social media is worth a donation on average of £10.
  • Frequent updates - Fundraising pages with updates, photos or videos tend to raise 14% more per photo.
  • Give yourself a head start - Those who start fundraising three months before event day on average go on to raise twice as much as those who start after.
