Hundreds of people from across the diocese and beyond gathered at Coventry Cathedral on the 4th November for a service of thanksgiving and farewell to Bishop Christopher.
After fifteen years as Bishop of Coventry, it was announced in June that The Right Reverend Dr Christopher Cocksworth had been appointed to the Deanery of The King’s Free Chapel of St George, Windsor Castle.
Dean John Witcombe said:
"Today we are saying farewell and Godspeed to our beloved Christopher. Bishop Christopher has been a good friend to the Cathedral for the last fifteen years, and has taken our reconciliation ministry and international partnerships to heart. He has spoken boldly about peacemaking in the Diocese, nationally and internationally and has been a strong and consistent supporter of the Cathedral’s life and work. We will miss him, and wish him and Charlotte a rich and fruitful stay in Windsor for them, and for all the opportunities of service which it will present."
Thank you Bishop Christopher for all that you have done for our Cathedral and the wider Church of England Diocese of Coventry. Very best wishes for your new role - all of our prayers go with you.
