As soon as it was opened in 1962, Coventry Cathedral became a major tourist attraction, welcoming thousands of visitors each year. Tourists and pilgrims come from all over the world to experience this extraordinary building and to share something of the quest for peace and reconciliation embodied by the dramatic contrast of the Ruins and the New Cathedral. We’d love to welcome you too!
The New Cathedral is open to all visitors between 10 am and 4 pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 12.30 until 3 pm on Sunday. You no longer need to book a ticket in order to visit, but the Cathedral is a busy working church and as such occasionally we do have to limit access or close completely so we suggest checking our calendar before making a special trip. Please see our worship and events calendars for more information.
During the on-going pandemic we are committed to ensuring that everyone feels safe in our buildings – visit our ‘Visiting Safely’ page below to find out what steps we are taking.
