This. Is. It. The finale of Plumbline Festival and the Centenary celebrations at Coventry Cathedral. Join us in closing the last 100 chapters and be part of the story as we beckon a new dawn. Here’s to the next 100 and beyond.

An unforgettable and immersive experience launches New Year’s Eve and runs until 13th January 2019 within the ruins of Coventry Cathedral.

Inspired by Coventry’s ability to triumph in the face of adversity and follow great loss with reconciliation, design practice NEON in collaboration with Musicity transform the Cathedral Ruins into an ethereal dream-like landscape.

Sunrise takes us through the pivotal moment of transition from darkness to light. Expect to bathe in waves of graduating colours that change over the duration of the performance through a light installation brought to life by an atmospheric, electronic soundscape entitled “Sunrise Sonata” commissioned specifically for the show.

As a special feature for the New Years Eve Premiere, Sunrise will include live music by Anna Palmer of Dorcha and electronic artist Andy Spackman. For this event adult tickets are £5 and children, under 16 may enter free of charge. Tickets available soon.

Premier performances on New Year’s Eve with live music – 31st December at 6pm, 9pm and Midnight (20 mins approx). Under 16’s free, adults £5. Available soon. Must be booked in advance.

1st – 13th January, experience the installation with recorded music daily at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. Booking not required, all events during this time are free.

Please note: The programme may be subject to change or cancellation due to circumstances beyond the event organiser’s control. The performances will go ahead regardless of weather, therefore, please come wrapped up warm and prepared for rain or snow!
