Choral Evensong Marking the 80th Anniversary of D-Day

Join us for a service of Choral Evensong, where we will be marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings with reflection and prayer.

D-Day was a pivotal moment in the course of World War II when British, Canadian and American and other Allied nation troops, landing on the beaches of Normandy, began the liberation of occupied Europe. In this special Evensong on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the Cathedral and the city will remember all those who risked so much for the freedom of others, and will pray for those caught up in conflicts today who still await their freedom. In a place which is known as an icon of peace, we will pray for the end of conflict and the reconciliation of enemies through building a culture of justice and peace.

The Revd Mary Gregory, Canon for Arts and Reconciliation at Coventry Cathedral, said:
