The film was made as a Czechoslovak/East German co-production in 1973. It was filmed at studios in Prague and East Germany, and in locations in South Bohemia and Moritzburg, just outside Dresden.We are showing the Czech language version with English subtitles. It is a restored version released in the UK by Second Run. Historian Mark Cook will introduce the film.
