“" I want to touch people with my art and for people to touch my art."”

The Dresden sculptor Reinhard Pontius created a large wooden sculpture of the Archangel Michael, in which he designed him as an angel of peace without weapons, open to a direct encounter with people.

With this sculpture, Reinhard Pontius is on tour through Europe with the desire to set a sign for peace and reconciliation.

He has already traveled through Germany with it for two years and is now coming to Coventry as the start of his European tour.

It is intended to be a symbol of peace and reconciliation in commemoration of the destruction of the city by the German Luftwaffe in World War 2.

The completion of the journey of the Angel of Peace should be in Kiev in 2025.
