Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 — “Symphony of a Thousand”Leamington Sinfonia conducted by Joe Davies

A once-in-a-lifetime experience comes to Warwickshire as the Leamington Sinfonia, under the direction of Joe Davies, presents Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, the legendary “Symphony of a Thousand.”

Bringing together the vast forces of eight choirs, a full symphony orchestra, and soloists, this monumental work is one of the largest-scale choral symphonies ever written. From the ecstatic opening hymn “Veni Creator Spiritus” to the radiant setting of Goethe’s Faust, Mahler’s Eighth is a breathtaking journey that unites voices and instruments in a vision of transcendence, humanity, and divine love.
Rarely performed because of its sheer size and power, this performance promises to be a landmark in the musical life of the region — an overwhelming celebration of sound, spirit, and community.
