We are so excited to welcome, for February Half Term, Do Touch! by artist Julia Snowdin

Welcome to Do Touch! Play with tactile tentacles and soft spikes in Do Touch’s sculptural world of squishy monster-like characters. Accompanied by roaring and rumbling sounds, the audience are invited to immerse themselves in this installation, exploring art through touch.

The playful installation asks the audience to take a tentacle, stick them to the giant spikes to create their own monster. They can experiment with patterns and colours before admiring their creation, taking in it’s size and appearance.

The tentacles and spikes can be used in lots of different ways. You can tickle your mum, wear one as a hat or have a sword fight! Do Touch is to be played with.

Do Touch is the final outcome for an Arts Council project grant that explored interactive artwork in a Covid-19 world. The research discovered that audiences still want to interact with art. Julia has played with this idea by creating a monstery installation that is very tactile and invites the audience to play through touch.

This playful and interactive installation is suitable for all ages and abilities.
