On 4th March 2023 we are hosting a day in celebration of the life and ministry of Bishop Simon Barrington-Ward, one-time Bishop of Coventry, who died in 2020 – and to mark the publication of a book about him “Exchange of Gifts: the Vision of Simon Barrington-Ward” by edited by Bishop Graham Kings & Ian Randall With contributions from Bishop Simon’s daughter, Helen Orr (herself an Anglican priest) and from the Bishops of Coventry and Birmingham, and Bishop Graham Dow, former Bishop of Carlisle and one-time incumbent of the Cathedral’s neighbour, Holy Trinity, the day reflects on Bishop Simon’s life and ministry and the particular gifts that he brought to the Church in this country and beyond.
