“"Abigail Reynolds Traveled the World to Document Libraries That No Longer Exist" ~Artsy Editorial”

Join us this Saturday the 4th of February for our last screening of ‘Lost Libraries of the Silk Road.’ in the chapter house. The screening will be playing on the hour and every twenty minutes trough the day.

In 2016 Abigail Reynolds became the third winner of the BMW Art Journey award, for a project titled ‘Lost Libraries of the Silk Road.’ ‘Lost Libraries’ is a split screen meditation on a solitary journey to libraries along the Silk Road that have been lost to political conflict, natural catastrophe, revolution, and war. The artist’s journal entries, narrated by three voices, weave together her 16mm footage of the former library sites, home movies, and archive news reports to consider what it means to be lost, and the many ways of looking.
