These free, half‑hour concerts (12.30–1.00pm) offer a perfect midday pause, showcasing the magnificent cathedral organ played by distinguished guest organists from across the UK and beyond. Each week brings a fresh and varied programme, from much‑loved classics to contemporary and newly composed works, performed in the inspiring surroundings of this iconic building. Oliver Hancock - Free Monday Lunchtime Organ Recitals 2026

Oliver Hancock is Director of Music at the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick, where he is responsible for the musical life of the Church, training and conducting the choirs of boys, girls, and men in services and concerts both in Warwick and further afield. He is also Choral Director at King’s High School, Warwick’s independent girls’ school, working with many of the school’s choirs.
Oliver was Scholar at Jesus College, Oxford, where he read for a degree in Music. In 2010 he was among the first students to take the new MMus in Choral Studies degree at the University of Cambridge. From 2008-2012, he held the post of Assistant Organist to Ely Cathedral Girls’ Choir, and for the academic year 2011-2012 was also Graduate Organ Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge. As Sub-Organist at Portsmouth Cathedral until Christmas Day 2017, Oliver accompanied daily services and regularly conducted the cathedral choirs in services and concerts as well as undertaking outreach work across the diocese. He also took part in notable sea-based events including performances alongside the Band of the Royal Marines and accompanying the commissioning service of the aircraft carrier HMS ELIZABETH II, in the presence of her namesake.
Oliver has toured much of mainland Europe and the East coast of the USA, appeared on a number of CDs as singer and accompanist, and broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and 4 and BBC One and ITV television. Oliver maintains a regular round of recitals, performing in venues across the UK and overseas. He was for many years an Examiner for the ABRSM and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Organists.
