Organist and academic, Dr
Jonathan Clinch, is a Lecturer at the Royal Academy of Music in London. He
previously held posts at Cambridge University and the Royal College of Music.
He read music at Keble College, Oxford, where he held the organ scholarship and
studied with Nicolas Kynaston. He was Assistant Organist of Perth Cathedral,
Western Australia, and broadcast nationally on the ABC. He completed a Master’s
degree in organ performance under Dame Gillian Weir and a PhD on the music of
Herbert Howells at Durham University. Recent editions include a completion of
Herbert Howells’ unfinished Cello Concerto and a volume of his piano works for
Novello. He has published widely on twentieth-century British music and is
currently recording the complete organ works of Robert Saxton (Emeritus
Professor of Composition at Oxford University).
