Born and bred in Coventry, Mark Pemberton is a self taught photographer who has become known as the man who makes the ordinary in his city look extraordinary, as well as showing people just how beautiful the city of Coventry really is. Mark is an award winning photographer who has worked his way up by developing his own style of achieving breathtaking images of his own city . Mark’s photography came to the attention of the cathedral a couple of years ago, and his images are on the front cover of the cathedral’s guidebook. Mark has worked with nearly all of the local tourism organisations, who see his work as perfect for promoting Coventry in a unique and positive way. Mark has called his exhibition “Shuttering illusions “ as he wants to shatter those negative illusions some people have about the city of Coventry, and Mark is quoted

as saying “I always see the best in my city, and capturing it’s beauty in an unique way through my photography, has been the most amazing journey …The city is ever changing and I love to emphasise the beautiful landscape around Coventry. The cathedral, especially the ruins and Bayley Lane, form part of the stunning cathedral quarter , an area for which I’m especially known for photographing. Having the chance to hold my first major exhibition at Coventry cathedral of all places is such an honour, and I can’t wait for people to see my work on show”
