Two exciting opportunities have arisen within our friendly and welcoming Education team.

Education Events Coordinator
Temporary until the end of July 2020
Approx 36 hours a month
£9.00 per hour

First, we are seeking to appoint a new member of staff to support our growing events programme. Each year around 16,000 children visit the Cathedral as part of their school experience to take part in tours and workshops. We are now in a position to extend this offer to cover a wide range of education events for schools to participate in. This initial two term post will begin our journey as we head into the City of Culture 2021 year with the possibility of extending the contract. The role will be to work mostly behind the scenes – marketing, planning and delivering various events throughout the school year; working in the offices and behind the scenes to ensure the events run smoothly and the school staff and pupils leave inspired and excited! This post would be ideal for someone seeking work experience to support post graduate employment. Schools’ Team Member
Term time (Average 3 days a week)
£9.00 per hour (plus holiday allowance)

Secondly, we are looking for a new team member. We offer a wide range of tours, workshops and events covering history, maths, religious studies and art – to name but a few. If you are interested in joining us in the continued development of our education work and enthusiastic about teaching children in the Cathedral context; enabling them to discover its wonders and the excitement of reconciliation and you can be available between 9:15 and 2:45, term time only, then please do complete an application form. Applicants will be required to hold a DBS disclosure. We also ask that the applicants have sympathy with the Christian ethos of the Cathedral. You can download the job pack here, an application form here and a confidential disclosure form here.

The closing date for receipt of applications for both posts is 12 noon on Friday 28th February 2020 and interviews will take place at our offices on Friday 6th March. Shortlisted candidates will be informed on Monday 2nd March.
