Tenor Lay Clerk
£6,000 per annum
Average 7 hours a week- Closing date 24th July at noon
(Auditions and interviews take place the week of the 16th August)
We are seeking to appoint someone who will joining our team of musicians to contribute positively to our fine musical tradition as we reach out to a generation not use to church and work towards the city of culture 2021.
The post offers an average of 7 hours per week, spread over 2 to 6 days and worked mostly over the weeks of the term time, together with Christmas, Holy week and Easter. You will need to operate flexibly to fit in with the needs of the cathedral choir.
This post if subject to a DBS clearance, and will include weekends and bank holidays.

Verger (full Time 35 Hours)
£16,991.10 per annum pro rata (35 hours per week on a rota basis)

The Verger Team is critical part of cathedral life, supporting the day to day running and worship across all department of the Cathedral. Vergers act as care taker and attendant. It is an interesting, wide ranging and supporting role requiring a broad range of skills of the successful post holder
The right person is more important than previous experience. The right candidate will need to have a good level of fitness, and demonstrate that they have a mature attitude, are reliable and are able to work under pressure, with minimum supervision. The COVID-19 pandemic has changed how congregations access the Cathedral and its services, thus an ability (or willingness to learn) to operate the equipment necessary for live- streaming and recording services is essential.
Please Note: The successful candidate will need to be a committed Christian as they will be required to lead small services and prayers. They will also be required to have a cleared DBS check, and will be required to work a flexible shift pattern including weekends and bank holidays. The post will be for 35 hours per week on a rota basis, and you will need to be willing to operate flexible shifts with your colleagues to provide cover as is required for services.
