As we move into Step Four of the government COVID-19 guidelines, the Cathedral is now fully open to visitors from 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 12.30pm to 3pm on Sunday. In order to keep our staff and visitors safe we are following Government and Church of England guidance on COVID-19.

To help keep everyone safe we encourage you to continue wearing a mask and to be mindful of others as you move around the space.

We also advise you not to attend the Cathedral if you are feeling unwell or have come into contact with anyone who has tested positive with COVID-19.

The most important symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of any of the following:

  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

If you have any of the symptoms above, even if your symptoms are mild, stay at home and arrange to have a test.

You must also self-isolate if you are told to do so by NHS Test and Trace, for example if you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive. This remains the law, regardless of your vaccination status.

Our staff are regularly cleaning the visitor areas and touch points to keep the Cathedral clean and safe for visitors and staff.
