1st June New Cathedral closure

Diamond Jubilee Celebration of Cathedral staff and volunteers

Coventry Cathedral will be closed for a special staff holiday on Wednesday June 1st, as our own way of saying thank you to our wonderful team of Cathedral staff and volunteers. We have had an extraordinary two years of making our way through Covid, and then also enjoying the great and busy opportunities of the delayed City of Culture. On May 25th we will celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, marking exactly sixty years since the consecration of the rebuilt Coventry Cathedral. Our amazing team have worked together for all our valued visitors and we want to say thank you to them, and give them all a well earned break. We are going to do this on June 1st.

We apologise to those who will not be able to visit the New Cathedral on that day. The Old Cathedral Ruins will be open for you to come and visit and pray. All our services will be live streamed here:

We hope you will understand why we want to do this, and we look forward to welcoming you on the remaining 364 days of the year to this wonderful and transforming place.

With our love and prayers

The Coventry Cathedral Team
