Your gifts support our vigorous arts, reconciliation and worship communities

In common with the city to which it belongs, Coventry Cathedral challenges and embraces like nowhere else. We bring together the radical and the traditional — in music, in the visual and performance arts, in community healing and in worship. It is a place alive with energy and hope and a commitment to building a kinder world.

Your donation will help to maintain this zest for life, the arts and profound shared experience — and, we hope, might encourage you to take part, too.

With your help, we can inspire new generations with a remarkable experience, provide comfort and hospitality for all and keep Coventry Cathedral's doors open to everyone, free of charge.

Make a one-off donation

It is quick, easy and secure to give money to the Cathedral. We need your assistance to protect what we do. Giving to the Cathedral will help preserve a key part of Coventry’s heritage, maintain a space that provides special memories and moments and communicate the vital message of peace and reconciliation both near and far.

Investors in Hope – Our regular giving scheme

Regular gifts assist the Cathedral with annual budgeting and with planning future activities. You can support the Cathedral through a regular donation monthly, quarterly or annually.

Just a few pounds a month would make an instant impact, as Cathedral budgets remain tight and we receive no direct assistance from public funds.

With more resources, we can do more. Your donations provide funds to support the Cathedral’s work, including:

  • Buildings – After over 50 years of constant use our ‘new’ cathedral is showing its age. Investment in the overall maintenance, preservation and improvement of the Cathedral is critical to ensuring that our buildings remain an inspirational symbol to both pilgrims and visitors.
  • Music – The Cathedral choir includes 60 boys and girls, who benefit from access to a specialist voice coach and all the latest teaching methods. The Music Department is responsible for the promotion, recruitment, training and integration of all the children into the choir. It is a matter of great importance to us that our choristers, who come from all parts of the City, are able to flourish and develop their musical talents.
  • Reconciliation – Our Reconciliation Ministry Team is committed to advancing social justice and peace-building. Its work has involved some of the most difficult, long-standing and sensitive post-conflict areas including Burundi and South Sudan. This marks Coventry out amongst English cathedrals, as having a unique heritage and an internationally recognised role
  • Education – Each year over 14,000 schoolchildren visit this site, rich in history and art. We would like to be able to welcome more. The Cathedral offers every pupil a fun, memorable and educational experience. Tours and workshops are designed around the National Curriculum covering subjects at Key stages 1–4 in History, Art, Signs and Symbols, RE and Citizenship.

Make your donation go further with Gift Aid

Although the Cathedral is technically an “ecclesiastical corporation”, it is treated as a charity by HM Revenue and Customs so we look to reclaim Gift Aid wherever possible. If you are eligible, please do Gift Aid your donation online.

If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid will increase the value of your donation by allowing us to reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift. For every £1 donated, the Cathedral can claim 25 pence of tax at no additional cost to you, therefore a gift of £100 is worth £125 once tax is reclaimed.
