As Coventry’s most iconic building, Coventry Cathedral is committed to welcome all through our wide range of activity, including education, worship, music, events and reconciliation.
Each year around 14,000 children visit the Cathedral as part of their school experience. We offer a wide range of tours, workshops and events covering history, maths, religious studies and art – to name but a few.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our friendly and welcoming team to appoint a new member of staff. In particular we are looking for a confident resourceful individual who has good communication skills with children and adults, enjoys managing finance and administration and will keep everyone informed of our activities through our social media and website.

Alto, Tenor and Bass Lay Clerk
Part time 7 hours per week, Salary: £6,000 per annum~
Two year fixed term initially, may lead to a more permanent role
Coventry Cathedral is well known internationally as a striking example of twentieth century church architecture and for its ministry of reconciliation. It has a committed core of worshippers who delight in the combination of traditional and contemporary liturgy and music and it attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors both from this country and abroad.
We are
seeking to appoint someone who will join our team of musicians to contribute positively to our fine musical tradition as we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee this year.
The post offers an average of 7 hours per week, spread over two to six days and worked mostly over the weeks of term time, together with Christmas, Holy Week and Easter. You will need to operate flexibly to fit the needs of the Cathedral Choir. The contract offered will be for two years with the intention to extend this indefinitely.
Closing date 19 September 2022 with interviews provisionally scheduled for 3 October 2022.
