In December 2017 Coventry was announced as the UK City of Culture for 2021. The Cathedral (new Cathedral and ruined old cathedral) are amongst the largest venues in the city centre (both indoor and outdoor) and have been identified as key locations for the programme delivery for 2021. Having significantly expanded our events programme in recent years the Cathedral is very eager to play a full part in the 2021 events. The Cathedral sees being at the centre of the 2021 activities as core to the delivery of its vision.

In early summer 2018, the Cathedral prepared a list of all the capital improvements required to improve both the ability to deliver projects in 2021, but also to support the long-term sustainability of the building and organisation. This is the ‘Making Space for Hope’ project, the management of which we wish to take forward. Please click here to download further information. The deadline for responses is October 2nd 2018.
