We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Rachel Mahon as our new Assistant Director of Music.
Canadian organist Rachel Mahon is Assistant Organist at Chester Cathedral where she regularly accompanies and conducts the Cathedral Choir and the Cathedral Nave Choir. Prior to this, she was Organ Scholar at St Paul’s Cathedral in London for two years. She combines her Cathedral work with a busy international recital schedule. Recent and upcoming engagements include an opening concert for the Montreal Symphony; Royal Canadian College of Organists’ National Convention 2016; Orgelsommer Festivals 2016 & 2017, St Michaelis Church, Lϋneburg, Germany; The Toronto Bach Festival 2018; and Haderslev Cathedral, Denmark. Rachel holds a Bachelor of Music degree from University of Toronto where she studied with John Tuttle and she currently studies with Henry Fairs. In 2012, Rachel and Sarah Svendsen founded the comedic duo Organized Crime. The pair finished their 2017 tour by opening for the Montreal Organ Festival and they will perform at the RCCO National Convention in Halifax next year.
Rachel will join the team at Coventry Cathedral in September.
