Our vision is of a reconciled and reconciling Cathedral which is open and welcoming to all, which serves to glorify God in our worship, and reaches out to the world in our ministry of reconciliation.
To this end we are looking to maximise the missional opportunities presented by the large numbers of visitors to the old Cathedral ruins (and the cancellation of entry charges to the new Cathedral from May 2018), by being available to listen to visitors’ stories, and, if appropriate, to share something of their own story too, sowing ‘seeds of doubt’ that the Christian story might be worth exploring further. A significant part of the role will be to recruit and train other volunteer Chaplain Missioners as ‘listening ear evangelists’ from churches across the Diocese.
The closing date for applications is noon on Wednesday 4th July and interviews will take place at the Cathedral on Thursday 12th July. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by Friday 6th July.
