Some words from the Dean following last night’s news from Berlin:
We are very troubled by reports of an attack close to our good friends in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in the heart of Berlin.
We share a history of rebuilding hope from destruction, and are proud to have a copy of the Stalingrad Madonna in the Cathedral gifted to us from that church, who hold the original. They in turn have a Coventry Cross of Nails in their Sanctuary.
We pray for them at this difficult time for healing of bodies and relationships, for those who have died and the bereaved, and for the Church’s ministry of Reconciliation.
A particular opportunity to gather for prayer will be our ‘Service for the Longest Night’, taking place on Wednesday 21st December at 6 pm. Everyone is welcome.
