We are developing a range of courses, workshops, lecture series and creative learning experiences. These will cater for a wide range of interests and abilities. From introductory short courses taken as an evening class, a day workshop or as part of a church weekend, to summer schools at post-graduate level, St Michael’s House will provide a fresh way of thinking about the contribution of faith to making peace.
Participants will not only understand better the world in which they live, but engage with the practical, theological, moral and spiritual resources that inform an active commitment to reconciliation. In partnership with specialist agencies and trainers, we will provide opportunities to develop skills and recognised qualifications in mediation and conflict transformation. In line with the Diocese of Coventry’s commitment to transforming communities, specific courses will explore how a fuller understanding of reconciliation provides the context for engaging with social and community cohesion in a multi-cultural society.
Throughout the year, St Michael’s House will provide safe spaces to address difficult and contested issues creatively through honest, open and informed dialogue. We will put into practice what we teach by being a place where reconciliation is allowed to take root through personal encounter. We will invite one another to listen and be listened to with respect.
