Students are a valued and valuable part of Cathedral life. Situated next to Coventry University's campus, and with Warwick university also in Covenry, the Cathedral is in an ideal place to serve and be served by students.

The Cathedral offers students a variety of worship, Biblical teaching and a friendly, all-inclusive community, which is particularly important for Students living far from home for the first time. Many Students come to the Sunday evening service 'Cathedral Praise' with lively worship, challenging teaching, friendly people of all ages and an evening start (6.30pm) so there is time for a lie-in. There are refreshments after the service (including donuts!) and we go for a drink as a group together as the service breaks up.

Other Students, many from over seas, are more used to, prefer and are very welcome to, the more traditional services at the Cathedral, such as the 10.30am Eucharist, and take the oportunity to sing in a choir.

There are two main branches of the work we do.

• God is not just for Sundays, so we run 'cell' groups to worship God, encourage and pray for each other, learn from the Bible and talk about sharing our faith during the week.  We have two cell groups at the moment that share a meal together at the start and have a really close community spirit.
• God's primary and most glorious attribute is that of love. This love is not a concept or a romantic ideal, but an eternal, enduring, sacrificial love that causes hardened hearts to melt and cynics to dance. At the Cathedral we're joining in a national movement to share our experiences of God's love in our lives with our Uni. Whether that is through random acts of kindness or meeting real needs that we come across, we aim to play a real part in the daily life of the students we meet.

The Cathedral employs a nearly full time Student Worker/Minister to co-ordinate the Student Ministry. This means making sure Students are looked out for whether they think the Cathedral has nothing relevant for them, they are just visiting or if they've made us their home. Joe is available to meet up with Students who would like to chat.
