Good Morning. Welcome to Coventry Cathedral. An extraordinary place. A story you can't ignore.

Remember our child

The ministry of Remember our Child is as relevant now as it was at its inception in November 1993. Our monthly service continues to be a source of comfort to families who have lost children. Some attend for a time, some become long term members, but all find strength and support in the company of others who walk the same path.

Parents who have suffered the loss of a child of any age are welcome to meet at the Cathedral on the first Monday of each month at 5.45 pm for a short service in the Chapel of Unity, during which candles are lit and those children whose anniversaries will occur that month, are remembered by name. The service is usually followed by refreshments, an opportunity to talk, sometimes to hear a speaker and always to spend time with one another.

There is a Book of Remembrance in the Cathedral in which parents can ask to have names written, on application to the Cathedral Office, or to the Remember our Child co-ordinators below.

A short informal service is held in the week before Christmas, which is an especially poignant time. A copy of the order of service we use can be downloaded here.

A more structured service is offered to all bereaved parents and their families in May. For addresses given over recent years, click the appropriate link below:
