Good Morning. Welcome to Coventry Cathedral. An extraordinary place. A story you can't ignore.

Being a volunteer

Your questions answered

What sort of volunteering opportunities are available?

Coventry Cathedral is a very busy and interesting place offering many, many opportunities for volunteering. These range from brass cleaning, flower arranging, welcoming visitors or guiding them around the Cathedral to providing professional skills in property, archive, business, audio and many others.

How many people volunteer already?

We currently have around 300 people volunteering with us, providing their skills and experience in a huge variety of ways.

How much time do I need to give?

That depends on the type of volunteering work you want to do. People give varying amounts of time depending on their circumstances- from a morning weekly to undertaking specific projects that take weeks or months. Whatever time you have available, we would love to have you on board and will try our best to accommodate you.

Are there any restrictions or things I need to know?

Yes. All our volunteers are required to be police checked using the Criminal Records Bureau service. This is Cathedral policy and a formality we undertake for anyone involved with us, paid or unpaid. Volunteers must have the right to residency in the UK. We would normally expect volunteers to have an understanding of our Christian ethos but we welcome volunteers who are wanting to find out more. We especially welcome people from churches in the Coventry Diocese.
